The SmartSource applications architecture permits third party applications to utilize SmartSource email delivery services. Delivery services include:
Delivery services may be accessed via a web services API or by an SMTP messaging protocol. WEB SERVICES Web services APIs can be used to access delivery services. Applications can be designed as “portals” with custom user interfaces or as integrations with other marketing applications. Web services allow programs to “Load lists”, “Load HTML content”, “Proof Lists” and all other functions required to define and execute an email broadcast. Trigger messages may be store as individual messages and sent via web-service trigger requests. SMTP+ SERVICES Delivery services can also be accessed by an SMTP protocol. Applications that are able to fully form an SMTP message, can relay such messages in high volume to a secure SMTP server at SmartSource. SmartSource receives such messages and intelligently modifies the messages to insert tracking codes, open sensing and other reporting information. The SMTP messages are routed via the appropriate IP address and sending domain using defined header information provided in the SMTP message. Once SMTP messages are modified and delivered by SmartSource, all of the delivery and reporting services are available to track and manage the messages. |
